Privacy Policy
Furaxa, Inc. ("Furaxa") has established this
Privacy Policy to demonstrate its firm commitment to privacy.
This Privacy Policy governs collection, use and disclosure
practices related to information obtained by Furaxa while
a person accesses any content residing in the Internet domain
www.furaxa.com (the "Website") and any linked
or framed content accessed through the Website (all such
content, including the content on the Website being referred
to as the "Content"). All information so obtained
is referred to in this Privacy Policy as the "Collected
Information." Any person who accesses any Content is
a "User."
In becoming a User, a person acknowledges to Furaxa that
the person has read this Privacy Policy and the Legal Notices
and that the person accepts and agrees to be bound by this
Privacy Policy and the Legal Notices.
Information Collection & Use
Furaxa is the sole owner of the
Collected Information. Furaxa will not sell, share, or rent
the Collected Information to others in ways that vary from
what is disclosed in this Privacy Policy. Furaxa obtains Collected
Information at several different points on its web site. Personal
information, such as a User's name, address and other contact
information may be gathered from you on a voluntary basis.
Users need not submit this information to use the site unless
it is specifically required to access certain Content or to
allow Furaxa to contact a user.
Registration
Some areas of the Website may require
registration to access. Typical requirements include a User's
e-mail address and some basic information about the User,
such as name, company name and job function.
Subscription
Users have the opportunity to subscribe
to Furaxa's mailing list by filling out an optional form.
In order to subscribe, a User is required to give basic information
(such as name and email address). This information is used
to contact the User about press releases, corporate announcements
and the services on the Website site in which the User has
expressed interest. Furaxa makes no other use of this information
unless otherwise indicated on the Website or in future communications
with the User.
Log Files & IP Addresses
An IP address is a number that
is automatically assigned to a computer whenever its user
accesses the Internet. Web servers like the one(s) hosting
the Website automatically identify computers by this number.
When Users request Content from the Website, the Website's
server(s) log(s) the User's IP addresses. Furaxa does not
normally link IP addresses to personally identifiable information,
which means that a User's session will be logged, but the
User remains anonymous to Furaxa. Unless otherwise indicated,
this information is not shared with anyone outside of Furaxa
and/or its designated contractors. When shared with contractors,
usage is for the purpose of analyzing user trends and demographics.
No IP addresses will be shared with third parties.
That said, Furaxa can and will use IP addresses to identify
Users when Furaxa feels that it is necessary to enforce
compliance with law, Furaxa's Legal Notices or this Privacy
Policy, or to protect Furaxa's services, Website, customers
or others.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored
on a user's hard drive containing information related to the
user. Furaxa does not use cookies to identify particular Users
unless a given User has consented by registering for access
to restricted parts of the Website or registering for one
or more mailing lists. Furaxa uses cookies to enhance the
User experiences in using the Website by such means as storing
password or User preference information. If a User rejects
the cookie, the User may still use the Website with the only
drawback being the disablement of some of the usability features
of the Website. Some of Furaxa's business partners or others
(such as advertisers) may use cookies placed by the Website,
or may place their own cookies, but Furaxa has no access to
or control over such practices.
Users always have the option of disabling cookies by simply
turning off their browsers' functions that accommodate cookies.
Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. Users
can, however, reset their browsers to refuse all cookies
or indicate when a cookie is being sent.
To disable cookies in Netscape 4.7, for example, simply
go to "Preferences" under the "Edit"
drop-menu. Select the "Advanced" option and select
"Disable Cookies." Click "OK."
To disable cookies for Internet Explorer 5, for example,
go to "Internet Options" under the "Tools"
drop-menu. Select "Internet" within the "Security"
tab and click on "Custom Level." Select "Disable"
for both stored and per-session cookies. Click "OK."
Sharing
Furaxa partners with various third
party contractors to help process orders and provide other
services. To Furaxa's knowledge, these companies do not retain,
share, store or use personally identifiable information for
any secondary purposes.
Links
This web site contains links to
other sites. Please be aware that Furaxa is not responsible
for the privacy practices of such other sites. Furaxa encourages
Users to be aware when they leave Furaxa's site and to read
the privacy statements of each and every other website Users
access. The restrictions and limitations on Furaxa's use of
Collected Information pertain only to Collected Information
and do not apply to information collected by third parties,
whether such information is collected incidental to Users'
access of Content or otherwise.
Security
The information collected at this
web site is stored in a secured database, which is password
protected and encrypted. Only employees who need the information
to perform a specific job are granted access to personally
identifiable information.
Correction/Updating Personal Security
If a User's personally identifiable
information changes (such as the User's zip code or email
address), or if a user no longer desires to access Content
service, Furaxa will endeavor to provide a way to correct,
update or remove that User's personal data provided to Furaxa.
This can be done by emailing Furaxa's customer support staff
through one or more links on the Website.
Choice/Opt-out
In certain cases where Furaxa is
aware of actual or potential secondary uses for User information,
Users will be given the opportunity to "opt-out"
of having their information used for purposes not directly
related to the Website at the point where Furaxa asks for
the information.
Users who no longer wish to receive press releases, corporate
announcements, or promotional materials may opt out from
receiving these communications by replying to such e-mail
with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject line
of the emailed reply or by e-mailing Furaxa's customer support
staff.
Requirements of Law
Furaxa may release account information
whenever it believes in good faith that such release is reasonably
necessary to comply with law, enforce or apply the terms of
any user agreements, or protect the rights, property or safety
of the Website, its Users or others.
Notification of Changes
If Furaxa decides to change this
Privacy Policy, it will use commercially reasonable efforts
to post those changes as a link on its homepage. If, at any
time, Furaxa decides to use personally identifiable Collected
Information in a manner different from that stated in the
privacy policy in force at the time such Collected Information
was collected, Furaxa will notify Users by e-mail to the User's
last e-mail address known to Furaxa.
